Understanding the ACFT Events

1. 3-Repetition Maximum Deadlift (MDL)

  • Test: Assesses lower body strength. 3-rep max lift.

2. Standing Power Throw (SPT)

  • Test: Assesses explosive power. Best of two 10lb medicine ball throws.

ACFT Scoring Explained (Simplified)

The official ACFT uses a 600-point scale (100 points per event) based on complex age/gender tables. This calculator uses a simplified model.

  • Minimums: Officially, 60 points per event are required to pass.
  • Total Pass: Officially, a total score of 360+ points AND meeting all event minimums is required to pass.

Official Army performance categories (based on official scores):

  1. Platinum: 540-600 points (unofficial term, sometimes used)

  3. Silver: 450-499 points (unofficial term, sometimes used)
